This resin Aires set in 1:48 scale is a detail accessory, not an airplane model. It replaces the cockpit in a kit of the reconnaissance version of the Phantom with faithfully cast instrument panels, side consoles, seats and other features that injection-molded plastic usually renders in a simplified way.
The McDonnell RF-4B was the unarmed photo-reconnaissance version of the two-seat Phantom II jet aircraft, operated by the Marine Corps. In place of the radar and the gun armament it carried reconnaissance cameras in the nose. The two-seat layout and powerful engines placed the Phantom among the key machines of its era.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate the casting blocks and bond with super glue. The interior is best painted and assembled before the fuselage is closed. The instruments come into their own once picked out with a dark wash and a dry brush.
This is an accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue and paints are not included in the package.
