A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masking templates (kabuki masks) in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer New Ware. It is not an airplane kit but a masking set for spraying a plastic model of the Grumman S-2 Tracker carrier-based anti-submarine aircraft in the S-2E and S-2G versions. The Basic version contains masks for the outer side of the cockpit glazing, for further clear parts and for the landing gear wheels. What the set is for

The Tracker has extensive cockpit glazing with many frames. The templates in kabuki tape copy their edges exactly, so that after spraying a sharp transition is created with no paint creeping under the mask. The wheel masks make a clean coat on the tires and the hubs easier and do away with laborious covering by hand.

The real subject

The Grumman S-2 Tracker (originally designated S2F) was a carrier-based anti-submarine aircraft with a pair of piston engines. The S-2E and S-2G versions belonged to the later anti-submarine variants with modernized equipment and served with the US Navy and in other countries.
