About product

Photo-etched seat belts RAF late 1:48 (Eduard)

This color photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard imitates the multi-point seat harness of later Royal Air Force aircraft. It is not an aircraft kit, but a detail accessory for improving the interior of the cockpit. The parts are pre-printed in several color layers, so the straps and the buckles look realistic with no painting needed.

What the set is for

Belts from ordinary kits tend to be flat or missing altogether. Color photo-etch replaces them with fine, shapeable straps that can be left to drape naturally over the seat. The pattern follows the later British standard, so it suits models of postwar and jet RAF aircraft in this scale.

Usage tips

Separate the parts with a sharp knife, shape the straps carefully and seat them on the seat. Pre-printed belts do not have to be painted; a fine wash in the recesses brings out the texture. They are fixed with their self-adhesive layer or with a small drop of cyanoacrylate glue.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of models of later and jet RAF aircraft in 1:48 scale
  • Modelers who want a faithful cockpit without laboriously painting the belts
  • Collectors who find the kit belts short on detail

This is a photo-etched detail accessory, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
