1:48 SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1/GR.1a - Bases for Chaff and Flare Dispensers is a resin accessory from the Quickboost brand which makes the mounting of the countermeasure dispensers on the rear fuselage more accurate.
Responsibility details are not available.
This small Quickboost add-on set replaces the simplified plastic bed of the chaff and flare dispensers with a resin casting which has sharper relief and cleaner edges. The contents of the package are the bases themselves, that is, the surfaces by which the dispensers are attached to the fuselage. You will not find the bodies of the dispensers in this package. The casting is made in one piece, so no mold parting line arises on it that would have to be sanded away.
The Jaguar came out of a British and French program originally intended as an advanced trainer, but during development it became a supersonic tactical strike aircraft. The Royal Air Force introduced the single-seat GR.1 version in the 1970s, deployed it from bases in Germany and in the British Isles and later operated the upgraded GR.1a. The best known chapter remains the operation over Iraq and Kuwait in 1991, when the machines flew in a desert finish. Dispensers for chaff and infrared flares were added to the aircraft gradually and their arrangement differed from one machine to another, so it pays to compare the build with a photograph of the particular aircraft.
It will be appreciated by a modeler who is building a large Jaguar with a focus on fidelity of detail and wants the rear fuselage to match period photographs. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
