An injection-molded plastic kit of the unpowered training glider SG-38, or SK-38, in 1:48 scale from Special Hobby. It is a modern tooling completed with photo-etched parts and decals; this boxing differs from the sister package in its markings - it offers the postwar operators, among them Czechoslovakia with the license designation SK-38, Poland and East Germany. Check the actual contents of the box against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The SG-38 Schulgleiter was a simple basic training glider with an open framework structure, on which beginning pilots gained their first flying habits. After the Second World War it was also built and used in other countries - in Czechoslovakia as the SK-38, and it also flew in Poland and East Germany. It was launched with a bungee cord or by a winch and served for basic glider training.
It is a small but fine model - glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the small photo-etched parts with super glue. The open framework structure means a lot of thin struts and wires: work carefully and count on adding the bracing wires. Combine wood and fabric with matte shades; postwar civil schemes tend to be colorful - after the decals, add fine wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
