A decal set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:48 scale, which transfers single rows of rivets laid in arcs and circles onto the surface of a model. It is not a kit but an accessory for finishing a model that is already built and painted. The word single in the name denotes one row, radial its circular course. The name does not give a particular type of aircraft; the set is listed by scale and is used wherever the subject has riveting laid in circles.
The rivets on a real aircraft follow the structure under the skin. Around circular bulkheads, the cowlings of radial engines, round access panels and the area of exhaust openings, the riveting therefore also runs along an arc. For a modeler this is the most demanding case: in a straight line a ruler keeps the spacing, but in a curve the spacing has to be watched point by point and a single deviation is conspicuous on a painted surface. A ready-made row solves this problem and moreover does not cut into the plastic, so there is no risk of the riveting wheel slipping on a finished part. In 1:48 scale the difference is clearly visible especially on engine cowlings, where the riveting is densely concentrated.
For modelers who want to bring the surface of a model to life with riveting but do not want to work with a riveting wheel directly on a finished part. It calls for patience and a steady hand.
