Quickboost 1:48 Spitfire Mk. 22/24 engine cowling and exhaust is a resin detail set. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin detail set holds the engine cowling and the exhausts of the late Supermarine Spitfire F Mk. 22 and Mk. 24 fighters in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for the kit that sharpens up the shape of the upper engine cowling and replaces the simplified plastic exhausts with parts with hollow mouths. It is not a stand-alone model of the aircraft.
The Spitfire Mk. 22 and Mk. 24 were among the last production patterns of the whole Spitfire family and were powered by the potent Rolls-Royce Griffon engine. Against the wartime versions they differed in a number of design details, the shape of the cowling and the arrangement of the exhausts included, which makes this accessory a welcome sharpening up.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Check the fit of the cowling against the particular kit before gluing; the exhausts come into their own once they are painted in metallic shades.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin accessory for the kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
