The set contains pre-cut self-adhesive masks from kabuki paper and is an accessory to the Kinetic K48061 and K48140 kits. There is no model in the package. At New Ware the Expert version is a more comprehensive variant of the same set than the basic version, which the manufacturer offers separately under a different code.
The Super Étendard was a French single-seat carrier attack aircraft which followed on from the older Étendard IVM and entered service at the end of the 1970s. It was adapted for operation from aircraft carriers, that is, for a catapult launch and an arrested landing, and it carried a radar and a guidance system for anti-ship weapons. The Modernisé designation, abbreviated as SEM, belongs to a later upgrade program which equipped the machines with a new radar, a reworked navigation and attack system and a modified pilot's station. From the outside the two forms differ only in details, which for a modeler matters precisely at the glazing and the antennas.
First wash the canopy in lukewarm water with detergent and dry it so that no fibers are left on it. Lift the masks off with the tip of a scalpel, transfer them with tweezers and at first only lay them down, so that you can fine-tune them. Then press the edge down carefully with a blunt tool, because that is exactly where paint creeps under. On carrier aircraft it pays to spray the shade of the frames from the inside first, then the anti-glare panel in front of the cockpit and only at the end the exterior finish. Meter the paint out thinly and in several passes. Take the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch, pulling it back over itself at a sharp angle.
The set is an accessory to the Kinetic K48061 and K48140 kits, which it does not contain. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
