An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet twin-engine interceptor Su-15 Flagon-A in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the early Flagon-A variant with a pure triangular, that is delta, wing, finely engraved panel lines, a cockpit and clear canopy parts. Check the specific contents of the box and the number of parts against the enclosed instructions.
The Su-15, NATO reporting name Flagon, was a Soviet twin-engine interceptor developed by the Sukhoi design bureau for air defense. It entered service in the second half of the 1960s as a powerful carrier of radar and of guided air-to-air missiles intended to destroy enemy bombers at high altitude. The Flagon-A version was the early production form with a triangular wing; the later variants received a wing with a kink in the leading edge.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic and the fine and clear parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the cockpit and the instrument panel and finish them with dry-brushing before closing the fuselage. The transparent canopy can be protected with a mask before spraying; fit the external missiles and tanks only after painting. A primer and painting with an airbrush are recommended, and bring out the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
