An accessory set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale from the LooK range, intended to replace the instrument fitting of the cabin of the two-seat aircraft Sukhoi Su-27UB. It is not a kit of the aircraft, but an accessory which is inserted into a plastic model in place of the part from the kit. Sets of this range bring a finished panel with the dials worked out in detail, so laborious painting of the individual instruments falls away. The two-seat aircraft has two cabins, but neither the exact make-up of the package nor the number of panels follows from the name; check them in the manufacturer's catalog. Confirm the match with the kit you are building as well.
The Su-27 is a twin-engined supersonic combat aircraft of Soviet design with a characteristic blended shape of the fuselage and a pair of vertical tail surfaces. The UB version is the two-seat combat trainer form with the cabins arranged in tandem and with a raised rear seat, which makes a view forward possible. The type was taken into service in the 1980s and became the basis for a whole series of derived versions. The roomy cabin with a large canopy is well visible on a model, so detail accessories in it show up markedly.
Try the seating of the panel dry first, because the original plastic part usually has to be removed or thinned. Work with tweezers and with clean hands, as fingerprints are removed from the surface of the panel with difficulty. It is glued with super glue applied in a minimal amount on the edges. The vapors of super glue can fog clear surfaces, so let the joint air before you close the cabin with the canopy. Finish and paint the surrounding interior before you set the panels in.
The set is an accessory, not a model of the aircraft. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
