This detail set replaces the out-of-box exhaust nozzles with faithful, sharply rendered parts in 1:48 scale. It is a resin, 3D printed aftermarket set from the manufacturer Reskit for experienced modelers. The 3D printing makes it possible to reproduce the thin nozzle petals and the inner ribbing with a fidelity that injection-molded plastic usually cannot reach - the tail of the model gains markedly in credibility.
The Su-33 is a single-seat carrier fighter derived from the Su-27 line, powered by a pair of jet engines with afterburners. It served aboard a heavy aircraft carrying cruiser and was distinguished by folding wings, canard foreplanes and robust landing gear for operation from the deck. The nozzles with their movable petals are among the characteristic features of the tail.
Wash the parts free of release agent residues, cut off the casting blocks and the print supports and clean them up. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; when sanding, protect your airways with a respirator. The nozzles come into their own after spraying metallic shades, the heat tints are created with glazes and tempera paints, and the inside is brought out with lightening and pigments.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
