Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb mid in 1:48 scale is an injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary British fighter of the Second World War from the Czech manufacturer Eduard.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of one of the best known fighters of the Second World War, the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb, in the mid production version, in 1:48 scale. The molds come from the Czech manufacturer Eduard and offer fine surface detail with engraved panel lines as well as a well worked out cockpit. The mid version corresponds to machines with armored glass in front of the windscreen and with the characteristic asymmetric bulges on the underside of the wing.
The Spitfire Mk.Vb was fitted with the Rolls-Royce Merlin 45 engine and carried the so-called B wing with two 20 mm Hispano cannons and four .303 machine guns. It was the most widespread version of the Spitfire in the period from 1941 to 1942, when it formed the backbone of the fighter units of the Royal Air Force (RAF) and also served with other Allied units on the European and the Mediterranean front.
Use thin modeling cement on the plastic parts and sand the joints down with fine abrasive paper. Apply a primer before painting and lay the shades down with an airbrush in thin coats. Before applying the decals, overcoat the surface with gloss varnish and matte it down once it has dried. Matching painting masks make spraying the camouflage transitions easier.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
