This resin set from CMK brings finely cast movable surfaces for models of the TBF/TBM Avenger carrier bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft but a detail accessory. The set replaces the simplified plastic parts, and the new surfaces can be fitted deflected, which gives a model a natural, lively stance.
The Grumman TBF, and the TBM built under license, was an American carrier-borne torpedo bomber of the Second World War. A deflected rudder, elevators or flaps are common on parked machines, and faithfully copied surfaces bring the finished scene markedly to life.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and try the seating dry before gluing. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Bring out the engraving of the surfaces with a thin wash; when you deflect them, watch the natural angle and the symmetry.
The set holds the resin parts of the surfaces only. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package.
