The Tornado GR.1 is the British strike version of the two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, created in international cooperation. The crew sit in tandem under a long canopy, so on a finished model both cockpits are visible along their whole length and empty side walls or smooth instrument panels devalue the whole job.
This is the smaller version of the interior set. Color film elements with a relief surface cover the instrument panels, the side consoles and the seats. These elements are printed on a decal backing paper, are dipped briefly in lukewarm water and are slid off the paper into place; a decal softener is not used on them. Alongside them, the package contains resin parts made by 3D printing, which add the shaped small details of the cockpit.
Spray the inside of the cockpit, let it dry and coat it with gloss varnish, because the film element has no adhesive layer of its own. Cut the elements out with a sharp blade, dip them briefly, slide them off the backing paper and press them into place with a cotton swab; on curves proceed in stages and help yourself with a drop of super glue. The printed resin parts are held on print supports: cut them off with a sharp knife close to the part, level the stubs with fine abrasive paper and, before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove print resin residue. They are glued with super glue, not with cement for polystyrene.
The set suits modelers who want both cockpits legible without painting miniature instruments. The package contains only the interior elements and the additional parts; the kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
