American 250-pound bombs, two pieces, 1:48 scale, are a resin accessory for an aircraft model, not a kit. They serve to complete a carried store on a model of an American aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not an airplane model. It is a set of two resin castings from the Czech maker Brengun in 1:48 scale representing an American aerial bomb of the 250-pound weight class, that is approximately 113 kilograms.
Although the weight class has the same name, American and British bombs of the same class differ in the shape of the body, in the design of the tail section and in how they are hung. It shows on a model: mixing them up is as distracting as the wrong propeller variant. It therefore pays to choose the accessory by the nationality of the aircraft, not just by the number in the name. This set is American.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water: mold release agent is the most common reason paint does not hold on resin. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw and sand the remainder wet; sand both pieces the same so that they hang symmetrically once fitted. Bond with super glue, and on a rounded body a short wire pin helps to set the part exactly. Apply a primer before painting. It is practical to paint and weather the bombs while they are still separate, away from the model: once they are hung under the wing you can no longer reach the underside.
This is an accessory to a model, not an aircraft kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
