This detail set from the Czech maker Hauler lets you build the American Browning .30 M1919A4 machine gun in 1:48 scale. It combines resin castings with fine photo-etched parts, which capture the perforated cooling jacket of the barrel, the body of the weapon and the tripod or mount faithfully. It is not a model of a vehicle: it is a weapon and diorama accessory for figures, vehicles or a firing position.
The M1919A4 is an American air-cooled machine gun in .30 caliber (7.62 mm), widely used during the Second World War and after it. It served as an infantry weapon on a tripod as well as mounted armament on vehicles and aircraft.
Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks, and separate the photo-etched parts on a hard surface. Glue everything with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Set the metal surfaces apart with a dark base and a light sheen on the exposed edges; do any sanding with respiratory protection.
This is an accessory set, not a model of a vehicle in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the glue, the paints and the figures are not included in the package.
