A plastic kit of the Vickers Wellington Mk.III in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. A large model of the British twin-engine bomber of the Second World War with a geodetic fuselage structure.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British twin-engine bomber Vickers Wellington Mk.III in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. It is a sizable and richly broken-up model with a detailed interior, Hercules engines, movable control surfaces and flaps and an openable bomb bay. The model captures the Mk.III version powered by Bristol Hercules radial engines. Check the exact contents of the box against the enclosed instructions.
The Wellington was a British twin-engine bomber and one of the mainstays of the RAF in the first years of the Second World War. It became famous for the geodetic, or latticework, fuselage structure from the drawing board of Barnes Wallis, which gave the aircraft exceptional resistance to battle damage. The Mk.III version received more powerful Bristol Hercules radial engines and was one of the most numerously produced variants used with Bomber Command.
First assemble and paint the interior, and only then close the fuselage halves; the cockpit and the gun turrets will stand out in detail. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the clear parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Protect the glazing with a mask while spraying, and the turrets can be built with their machine guns. A primer and painting with an airbrush are recommended; bring out the panel lines with a wash and, if you like, suggest the typical ribbed structure of the covering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
