Westland Lysander seatbelts STEEL 1:48 is a set of color-printed photo-etched seat belts in steel from Eduard. It is a separate cockpit accessory, not a kit and not a full photo-etched set.

The set deals with a single but very visible detail: the crew seat belts. The STEEL designation says that the photo-etch is steel, not brass. The difference is apparent at the first fitting — a steel strip can be bent, folded over an edge and slightly waved and it will stay where you leave it. Brass photo-etch tends to return to flat. The printing is in color including the metal parts, so the small hardware does not have to be painted. Behind the production stands the Czech firm Eduard.
The Westland Lysander was a British strut-braced high-wing monoplane for cooperation with ground forces, famous for its exceptionally short takeoff and landing. It was precisely that quality that in the Second World War gave it the role it is best remembered for today — night flights into improvised meadows over occupied territory. The Lysander's cabin is glazed over a large part of its length and the interior stays clearly visible once built, so any work on the fitting of the seats shows in the result.
Cut the parts off with a sharp knife against a surface or with photo-etch nippers. Fold gradually, in small steps, and avoid a sharp break directly in the printed area. They are glued with super glue applied with the tip of a toothpick, or with a specialized glue for photo-etch; thinned cement for plastic does not hold on metal at all. You will get the best impression if you do not run the belt taut but let it hang loose over the edge of the seat. A final dark wash settles the belts visually into the rest of the cockpit.
It is an accessory for a model, not a kit in its own right. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
