An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese hybrid battleship and aircraft carrier IJN Ise in 1:700 scale from Fujimi. The model captures the ship as she was in 1944, that is, at the time of Operation Sho-Go and the Battle of Leyte Gulf. The Full Hull form means the whole hull right down to the keel; a display stand is enclosed for it. The package also holds seaplanes for the after flight deck.
Ise was originally a conventional battleship that the Japanese rebuilt into a so-called aviation battleship after their carrier losses at Midway. They replaced the after gun turrets with a short flight deck with a hangar, catapults and equipment for handling seaplanes, while the ship kept her forward main armament. At the Battle of Leyte Gulf in 1944 she served as part of a force and later as a heavily armed floating anti-aircraft battery.
Glue the whole hull together with the keel and seat it on the enclosed stand. Finish and paint the superstructures, the gun turrets and the after flight deck before fitting the small parts; bond the fine railings and antennas with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before varnishing and lay the paints down with an airbrush. Paint the seaplanes separately. You will bring out the panel lines and the decks with a fine wash and discreet weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
