Responsibility details are not available.
The Japanese heavy cruiser Atago as a model in 1:700 scale from the maker Fujimi. According to the name of the item it is the full-hull version, so the shape of the bottom is visible as well, which is missing on a version cut at the waterline.
The Atago belonged to the Takao class, which among Japanese heavy cruisers is recognized by a massive forward superstructure that suggests a small battleship rather than a cruiser. Cruisers of this class carried strong gun and torpedo armament and often served as flagships of a force. The Atago ended in that role in the autumn of 1944, when torpedoes from a submarine struck her on the way to the Philippines.
A cruiser in this scale is not large, and that makes clean work and a thin coat of paint matter all the more. The tall superstructure is the dominant feature of this class, so it pays to build it and spray it separately from the hull. Take the deck first, so that neither brush nor nozzle has to thread its way between cranes and masts. The torpedo tubes and the boats come out well with fine shadow accents.
The model comes unassembled, without a finish and without glue. Accessories are chosen according to your own intention, unless stated otherwise.
