Replacement main wheels and a nose wheel for models of the de Havilland Vampire Mk.5, Mk.9 and T.11 in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The de Havilland Vampire was one of the first British jet aircraft and you recognize it at a glance: a short fuselage nacelle and a pair of booms with the tail surfaces slung between them. The FB.5 version was the fighter-bomber, the FB.9 was derived from it with modifications for service in hot climates, and the T.11 was the two-seat trainer conversion with the crew side by side. The Vampire has nose landing gear, so the wheels are clearly visible on the ground and deserve attention.
The set offers main wheels and a nose wheel in 1:72 scale as a replacement for the parts from a kit. It is intended for models of the Vampire Mk.5, Mk.9 and T.11 from Special Hobby and Airfix. Replacement wheels tend to be the main reason a finished model stands more convincingly: the tire tread and the shape of the rim are usually clearer than on the parts supplied in a kit.
The parts are not polystyrene, so bond them with super glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down. Fit the wheels dry and stand the model on a flat board before the glue sets: both main wheels have to sit flat and the aircraft must not stand crooked. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Do not paint the tire black; a dark gray tone with a light dusting around the circumference looks more faithful.
The wheel set is supplied on its own. The aircraft kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
