A photo-etched set of exterior detail for the F-16A Plus in 1:48 scale from the Czech brand Eduard. An accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set from the Czech brand Eduard aimed at the airframe surface of the single-seat F-16A Plus in 1:48 scale. It belongs to the full photo-etched line, not to the reduced Zoom sets, so its reach is wider than just the instrument panel and the seat belts. Thin metal can faithfully stand in for features that cannot be molded: grilles, metal covers, small stiffeners and control plates.
On a combat aircraft it is the exterior detail that decides the impression a finished piece makes in 1:48 scale. A plastic molding is necessarily a compromise in thickness, whereas photo-etched metal has a real thickness of hundredths of a millimeter and looks light beside it. The designation F-16A Plus is tied to the later aircraft of the single-seat A version.
Separate the parts with a scalpel on a hard surface, not with cutters. Make the bends over the edge of a metal rule or in a bending tool, so that a crisp line is formed. Degrease the metal before gluing and use super glue (cyanoacrylate) in a tiny amount, ideally applied with a piece of wire. The original plastic shapes that the photo-etched parts replace have to be sanded flush first.
The package holds only the photo-etched parts. The plastic basis for them has to be obtained separately.
