Masking stencils for spraying the camouflage scheme onto a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 110 B in 1:72 scale. Cut for Eduard kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 110 is a German twin-engine heavy fighter with a crew of two to three. The B version belongs to its early batches. On a model of this aircraft the camouflage is the most conspicuous work of the whole build: the area of the wing and the fuselage is large, the scheme runs across it in a continuous pattern and any transition that does not line up is visible at first glance.
Masking stencils for spraying the camouflage scheme onto a model in 1:72 scale. The stencils are cut to the shapes of one particular Bf 110 B kit from the Eduard company, so the pattern carries over across the edges of the parts and you do not have to estimate it freehand or cut it out of adhesive tape. The range of the parts and their placement is described by the instructions of the maker of the set.
The masks come into play before spraying, not after it. First apply the lighter shade of the scheme and let it dry thoroughly, and only then stick the stencils onto a clean and dry surface and press the edges down carefully so that paint does not creep under them. Spray perpendicularly from above and in thin coats; an oblique stream drives paint under the edge of the mask. After spraying, take the masks off while the paint is fresh, because the adhesive tears the edge away from a fully cured finish. Peel the stencil off slowly and at an angle, not straight up.
For modelers who want the camouflage laid out precisely and quickly, and for those who do not yet dare to do a more complicated scheme freehand. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
