A single sheet covers the complete marking of the British fighter from the Tamiya 61119 kit in 1:48: the roundels, the code letters and the serial numbers. The material is a thin tape through which the base shows, so every part can be seated according to the engraving. Paints and plastic parts are not supplied with it.
The Mk.I was the first production rendition of the Spitfire and it was with this one that the British fighter defense went into the Battle of Britain. It was powered by the Merlin V12, the armament consisted of eight machine guns in the wing, and the characteristic plan with its elliptical leading and trailing edges gave the aircraft excellent handling at the altitudes where the combats took place. The early examples differed from the later ones in the propeller, the exhausts and the shape of the canopy.
A British roundel consists of concentric circles, which is a complication for an applied sheet: a ripple arises around the perimeter and the glossy film tends to be visible even after a matte overcoat. The sprayed variant is done from the bottom up, from the lightest tone to the darkest, with a short pause for drying between the individual steps. The concentric parts are inserted into an already sprayed area in the process, so it is necessary to watch the concentricity.
