Mr.Paint MRP-A096 Extra Dark Sea Grey is a modeling water-thinnable acrylic paint from the MRP AQUA range of the Slovak manufacturer Mr.Paint. It is not a kit but a paint in a dropper bottle holding 17 ml, pre-thinned for spraying with an airbrush; it can be used with a brush as well. It dries to a satin (semi-matte) surface onto which decals, washes and filters can be applied directly, and compared with lacquer paints it has a low odor.
Extra Dark Sea Grey is the darkest of the British naval grays under the British standard (BS 640). From the end of the 1930s, together with the shade Dark Slate Grey, it made up the upper camouflage of the Temperate Sea Scheme, the scheme of British naval aviation. In 1943 it was moreover prescribed as the single upper color of most aircraft of RAF Coastal Command. An essential shade for models of naval and antisubmarine machines.
For modelers of British naval and coastal aircraft of the Second World War who need a faithful very dark gray on an acrylic base with no aggressive smell. Because it is thinned with water, working with it is straightforward even for less experienced airbrush users.
