A paint from the IONIC line carried under the manufacturer's part number IONIC-0004 and the name Fog Grey. It is a gray shade named after fog. How light it is and whether it has a cool cast does not follow reliably from the name, so compare the tone against the manufacturer's color chart; with light grays a small difference shows more on a finished model than it does with saturated colors.
Gray tones of this kind are used on aircraft camouflage schemes and on the undersides of fuselages, on ship superstructures and decks, on the concrete and plastered surfaces of dioramas and on the clothing of figures. They also serve well for suggesting distance: mixed into the base color they soften the contrast and help create the impression that a surface is fading into the air. They get along with earthy shades, glazes and pigments without trouble.
Stir the contents thoroughly before work, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Apply thin coats and add the next one only once the previous has dried; a single heavy coat clogs the engraved seams and the fine surface relief. Choose the thinner and the ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging; for an airbrush it needs more thinning than for a brush. Try the shade on a test piece, because a large area always looks lighter than a small sample. Rinse the tools right after work, as a dried film is considerably harder to remove.
The package contains the stated shade. The thinner, brushes and varnishes are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
