A set of two 3D-printed GRU-7A ejection seats for the F-14 A/B in 1:72 scale by Art Scale, with seat belts. A detail accessory for the cockpit, not an aircraft model. Intended for the GWH kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set contains two 3D-printed GRU-7A ejection seats including seat belts for a model of the Grumman F-14 Tomcat fighter in the A and B versions (the early forms) in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory for the two-seat cockpit; 3D printing captures the fine detail of the harness, the handles and the mechanism that injection-molded plastic usually cannot manage in this scale. The set is designed for the GWH kit.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was an American two-seat carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing, operated from aircraft carriers. The GRU-7A ejection seat by Martin-Baker served to save the crew, the pilot and the weapon systems operator alike, and it is a conspicuous feature of an open cockpit.
Wash the residue off the parts, carefully remove the thin print supports and clean up the surfaces. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Lay down a primer, paint the seat shell a dark shade, pick the belts out in a canvas tone and bring up the buckles and handles with a dry brush. A wash into the recesses adds depth.
This is a 3D-printed detail accessory, not a model in its own right. The base aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the package.
