A sturdier grade of the selection, a head with a hex 1.8 mm in diameter. It approaches the upper end of the scale and suits places where the joint is to look heavy.
Responsibility details are not available.
The choice of adhesive decides the fate of a detail more than anything else. Quick glues cure in a moment and the joint is firm at first, but a hard film takes a knock badly. It is enough for the model to tap the edge of a bench and the head springs off, together with a piece of torn-out surface.
Slower epoxies need more patience, but they cushion. Where the model is expected to be handled, they have the upper hand. A third route is light-curing glues, with which you can calmly spend two minutes aligning and only then fix the joint.
Around quick-curing glues a flat haze often appears which on a dark surface looks like frost. It arises from evaporation and settles exactly around a fresh joint, that is where it is most visible.
The 1.8 mm dimension already has a face large enough to hold even without a perfect seat. That tempts you into a quick solution, but it is precisely with the larger heads that it pays to choose the glue according to whether the model will stand or travel. The difference shows only in a year's time, but then fully. On one model, after all, both routes can coexist: the lower areas and the chassis will take a quick glue, whereas the top, which gets touched, deserves the slower and more resistant one.
