An add-on set of rivets for models. The head has a flat top, that is the shape of a low disc with no domed crown, and the size of the part is 0.5 mm. It is the finest dimension of this family.
A flat rivet differs from a round one in how it deals with light. It has no crown to create a point, but a crisp edge around its circumference, so it creates a thin ring of shadow and leaves the rest of the surface calm. On smooth surfaces the riveting can therefore stand being denser without the surface looking grainy. It comes into its own on covers, sheet-metal parts, edgings and the joints of thin materials, where a rivet must not project high above the surface.
For a modeler who is adding fine riveting on smooth surfaces and does not want the surface to look lumpy. It serves as an accessory when finishing a model; it is not a kit.
