An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Z class destroyers (the units Z37 to Z39) in 1:700 scale from Tamiya, part of the Waterline series. The box contains two models and new parts that let you build the late Project Barbara form with modified anti-aircraft armament. The kit offers a finely engraved deck, detailed superstructures and an enclosed paper sheet with flags.
These were German destroyers of the so-called Type 1936A (Mob), which differed from the older ships in their heavier 15 cm gun armament. The units Z37 to Z39 served in the Second World War among other places in northern waters and as escorts for heavy ships; the late Project Barbara modification meant a marked strengthening of the anti-aircraft defense, as Allied superiority in the air demanded.
These are waterline models built down to the waterline and meant for a flat surface. Use a thin plastic cement and work in subassemblies. Apply a primer before painting and lay the colors on with an airbrush; paint the small anti-aircraft armament while it is still on the sprue. The enclosed paper flags and discreet weathering will add credibility to the models, and the two pieces in the box can be built in different forms.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
