A plastic model of the Japanese Unryu-class aircraft carrier Katsuragi in 1:700 scale, that is in the most widespread scale for warships.
Responsibility details are not available.
Katsuragi was a Japanese Unryu-class aircraft carrier, completed in 1944. The Unryu class followed the layout of older Japanese carriers and was to replace the losses suffered in the fighting in the Pacific. Katsuragi, however, never got to be used in the role of an aircraft carrier because of the shortage of aircraft and fuel. She survived the war and afterwards served on repatriation voyages that brought Japanese soldiers home; only then was she scrapped.
This is a plastic model in 1:700 scale, which is the most widespread one for warships. A finished aircraft carrier works out at roughly thirty centimeters in it, so a collection can be expanded without outgrowing an ordinary display case. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the range of the parts and the version offered are described in the enclosed instructions.
On ships in this scale the armament and the small superstructures take the most work. It pays to bond them only once the deck is sprayed, because painting over finished detail goes badly. Paint the wooden deck and the hull separately and mask the boundary between them. Add the railings, lines and other fine elements right at the end so that they do not break off during handling. If you want the model set on the water, you need a hull ending at the waterline; whether the kit allows that is stated in the instructions.
Paints, glue and other accessories are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
