The real subject

The Yamashiro was a battleship of the Fuso class with a characteristic tall pagoda superstructure. In October 1944 it became the flagship of a force that in the night battle in the Surigao Strait ran into overwhelming odds; it was the last duel of battleships in history. Detailing a model in its 1944 state therefore aims at one of the most impressive periods of the ship.
