An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:700 scale from the Waterline series. The model is built as a waterline kit with a flat bottom, so it stands flat and looks like a vessel afloat. The package contains waterslide decals and several armament options.
The Shikinami was a special type destroyer of the Fubuki class, notable for its heavy 12.7 cm gun armament in turrets and its strong torpedo armament. It served in the Pacific and was lost during the war.
A waterline model needs no stand and suits a base or a representation of the sea surface. Separate and clean the fine parts of the superstructure carefully, glue them with liquid cement for plastic, and photo-etched railings from accessory sets add to the effect. The hull is sprayed in a shade of Japanese naval gray, and picking out the panels and light weathering help at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
