Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Type IXB submarine of the Second World War in 1:700 scale from Hobby Boss. It is a small, quickly built model with a low parts count, two versions of the conning tower and a finely rendered deck; a stand with a screen-printed nameplate is included. In 1:700 scale the assembled model is about 11 cm long.
Type IXB was a subclass of the German ocean-going submarines of Type IX, built at the turn of the 1930s and 1940s. Compared with the more coastal types they had greater range and greater stores, which destined them for long-range operations in the Atlantic and off the coasts of America and Africa. It was precisely the Type IXB boats that ranked among the most successful German submarines of the war by total tonnage sunk.
The model can be built full-hull on the stand provided, or as a waterline model on a sea base. Given the small scale, work with a sharp knife and a magnifier and pay attention to the fine deck and the fittings of the conning tower. Spray the hull in shades of gray, distinguish the lower part and unify the surface with a very fine wash. Finish the small parts at the very end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
