Responsibility details are not available.
A highly detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the American aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CV-6) in 1:700 scale from Flyhawk. The Deluxe edition captures the ship as she was in 1942 and adds photo-etched parts for the finest possible rendering of the small items such as the radars, the railings and the anti-aircraft armament. The model can be built with the full hull or as a waterline version at sea level. Check the exact package contents against the instructions included.
USS Enterprise (CV-6) was a Yorktown-class aircraft carrier and became the most decorated American ship of the Second World War, earning a string of awards for her service. In 1942 she played a key part in the fighting in the Pacific, among other actions at the Battle of Midway, the Battle of the Eastern Solomons and the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands. Her air group of dive bombers and fighters took part in the decisive victories over the Imperial Japanese Navy. Enterprise carried a mix of fighters, dive bombers and torpedo aircraft and was able to operate far from her bases.
Bond the fine photo-etched parts (radars, railings, armament) with super glue, because ordinary cement for plastic will not hold on metal. Paint the flight deck and the superstructures with an airbrush in the matching shades of the American naval camouflage of 1942, and pick out the panel lines and the planks of the wooden deck with a wash and dry brushing. The miniature aircraft on the deck do a lot for the overall impression, so it pays to paint them separately. For display you can choose the full hull with a stand, or the waterline version.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
