Injection-molded plastic kit of the American battleship USS Tennessee BB-43 as she was in 1944, from Trumpeter in 1:700 scale. According to the instructions the model can be built with a full hull on a stand or as a waterline version. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact contents of the box and any photo-etched parts, follow the enclosed instructions and the markings on the box.
Tennessee was the lead ship of the class of the same name of American standard battleships, with a main battery of 356 mm guns in four turrets. After being damaged in the attack on Pearl Harbor she was extensively rebuilt - she received a wider hull, massive superstructures and heavy anti-aircraft armament. Her 1944 shape captures the ship in this late-war configuration, when she supported the landings in the Pacific.
With battleships, first glue and fill the hull carefully. Paint the gun turrets and the massive superstructures separately and fit them only after the base coat. Pick out the wooden deck with a thin wash; fit the dense anti-aircraft barrels and the photo-etched railings with cyanoacrylate glue at the end. For 1944 a period American Measure camouflage scheme is the right choice.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
