An injection-molded plastic kit of the American battleship USS Texas (BB-35) in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the characteristic silhouette of a New York class ship with cage masts and the main caliber in twin turrets. The set is meant to be glued and painted.
USS Texas was a New York class battleship of the US Navy, commissioned in 1914. As one of the few vessels of her generation she took part in both world wars, covered the Allied landings in Normandy and in southern France and supported operations in the Pacific. The main armament consisted of ten 356 mm (14-inch) guns. After she was withdrawn she became a museum ship and has been preserved to this day.
Consider whether to build the model with the full hull on a stand or as a waterline version set into the surface of the water. Glue the small parts and the superstructures with thin cement for plastic. Additional photo-etched parts, above all railings, ladders and cranes, will lift the appearance markedly. An airbrush and preshading suit both the dazzle camouflage and the standard finishes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
