A set of figures of a French repair party at a tank in 1:72 scale, the subject of the year 1940.
Responsibility details are not available.
The French armored units of 1940 had machines that did not avoid breakdowns: heavy tanks with great weight and a complex transmission spent a sizable part of their time out of the fighting, in the hands of mechanics. A repair party therefore belonged to the picture of the battlefield of that time just as much as the tank itself. The set captures precisely that work: figures bending over a machine and returning it to service.
This is a set of figures in 1:72 scale intended for models of armored vehicles and for dioramas. The figures give a scene a story and explain without any further setting what is going on at the vehicle: a tank model then does not stand in the scene for itself alone, but in the middle of a situation.
In 1:72 scale an adult figure measures about two and a half centimeters, so work with the figures using pointed tweezers and over a light tray. Cut off the surplus material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts. In this scale it is mainly contrast that does the work: a base shade, a strong dark wash into the folds and lightening only on the highest places. Gentle shading of the face will be lost at a distance, while dirty hands and knees on repairmen can be seen at first glance.
For modelers who build armored vehicles in 1:72 scale and want a scene with people around them. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
