Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the license-built Austro-Hungarian version of the famous Albatros D.III in 1:72 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic model from the manufacturer Roden. The package holds plastic parts on sprues, a decal sheet and building instructions.
The Albatros D.III (Oeffag) series 253 was the last and most advanced modification of this machine built by the Austrian Oeffag works. Against the German original it had a more powerful engine and a reworked nose with a rounded tip without a propeller spinner, which improved both its cooling and its flying qualities. Many pilots regarded the series 253 as the best fighter they flew during the war. It is a biplane of sesquiplane layout, that is with the lower wing markedly narrower than the upper one.
Glue the fine interplane struts with cyanoacrylate glue, and paint the cockpit and the inline engine before closing the fuselage. Once it is assembled, add the bracing wires. Use a wood-grain technique on the wooden fuselage and an airbrush on the fabric surfaces; lay the decals on a gloss base. Mind the rounded nose typical of the series 253.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
