A resin detail set of the American N-3A and N-3B reflector gunsights in 1:72 scale from Quickboost (Aires). The package holds six pieces of finely cast gunsights with which you can complete the cockpits of American aircraft and replace simplified plastic parts.

The real subject

The N-3A and N-3B reflector gunsights were optical sights used on American aircraft during the Second World War. They projected a light mark onto a glass reflector in front of the pilot and made aiming the onboard armament easier. They appeared in the cockpits of a number of fighter and attack types.

Fitting and painting

First wash the mold release residue off the resin parts, carefully separate them from the casting blocks and sand the marks down. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer before painting and lay the paint down with an airbrush in thin coats. The clear reflector can be suggested with a drop of clear varnish or a small piece of clear film.
