A resin set from the premium BRASSIN range of the Czech manufacturer Eduard of Obrnice near Most. It represents the AN/ALQ-131 electronic countermeasures pod in the shallow variant in 1:72 scale. It is a detail external store accessory for models of combat aircraft, not a standalone airplane model.
The AN/ALQ-131 is an American podded electronic warfare system that serves to jam enemy radars and guidance systems. It is carried on the centerline or underwing pylon of American-built tactical aircraft and is one of the most widespread jammers of its category. The shallow version has a lower body than the deeper variant intended for extended electronics.
Before gluing, the resin parts are washed to remove the mold release residue, the casting blocks are cut off with a saw or a knife and the surface is sanded. They are glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. The pod is hung on the appropriate pylon of the model and painted along with it.
This is a resin accessory for more experienced modelers, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
