Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale capturing the Arado Ar 199 V-5 prototype machine from RS Models. It is a short-run model; the box holds parts in gray plastic, clear glazing and decals for the prototype version. The V-5 designation refers to the fifth test airframe (Versuchsmuster) of the type.
The Arado Ar 199 was a low-wing training floatplane designed in the late 1930s for training pilots of float and catapult-launched aircraft. The prototype machines served to prove out the airframe and its equipment; V-5 was one of these test aircraft. The enclosed cabin offered side-by-side seats for the instructor and the pupil plus a further place at the rear, and the machine stood on a pair of floats.
A short-run mold calls for cleaning up the parts and dry-fitting before gluing. Use thin model cement on the plastic and paint the cabin and the floats before closing them up. Fit the glazing only after spraying and clear-coating; an airbrush and a primer help toward an even surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
