Avro Anson C.19 1:72 from the Czech maker Valom: a short-run injection-molded kit of the postwar communications version of the legendary British twin.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Czech company Valom has long been mapping neglected British types, and in 2024 it added the family of postwar Ansons to its range. The kit of the C.19 version in 1:72 scale comes from new tooling and follows on from the other variants of this line, so you can gradually put the whole development line together. Short-run technology brings fine surface detail as well as a subject the large manufacturers leave out of their plans.
The Anson entered service as early as 1936 and made its name as a training and communications type across the whole Commonwealth. The postwar C.19 variant served with the RAF carrying staff officers and on courier duties; you recognize it by the cabin with its row of oval windows, and it is powered by two Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah XV seven-cylinder radials. The last examples flew with communications flights until 1968, when the RAF parted with the type after long decades.
With a short-run kit it pays to try every part dry and to sand the mating surfaces lightly if needed. Fit the glazed cabin only once the interior has been painted; a smooth gloss base under the decals will hold a silver or camouflaged finish well. An antenna wire of stretched sprue gives the silhouette its finishing touch and a scale lightness.
The kit comes unassembled and without paints; the builder chooses the glue and the colors.
