Injection-molded plastic kit of the British supersonic interceptor English Electric (BAC) Lightning in the F.6 and F.2A versions, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model has finely engraved detail and the box offers air-to-air missiles of both armament types. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with a decal sheet and instructions.
The English Electric Lightning (later under the BAC name) was a British supersonic Cold War interceptor with the unusual arrangement of two engines stacked one above the other and a strongly swept wing. It stood out for its exceptional rate of climb and speed. The F.2A and F.6 versions were among the improved forms with a reworked wing and a greater fuel load, and they formed the backbone of British air defense. The model lets you build a machine with the matching guided missile armament.
Separate the parts from the sprues, clean them up and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Lay down a primer base; natural metal areas will show best in shades of aluminum and polished metal applied with an airbrush, and the panels can be graded. Pick the engraved detail out with a thin wash. Mask the canopy glazing and the clear parts of the missiles, and even the surface out to the sheen you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
