A bathtub in 1:72 scale is a scenic accessory for dioramas with an interior, a ruin or a yard — a stand-alone object of the setting, not a kit.

A bathtub is a classic prop of diorama builders. In a scene with a damaged house it reveals that somebody once lived there, in a yard it serves as a watering trough or a water tank, and in an interior it completes a bathroom. In 1:72 scale it is a small stand-alone object of a scene — it is neither a kit nor a part to be fitted to another model.
It has the strongest effect in ruins, where a bathtub tends to be the only recognizable piece of equipment among the rubble, and in rural scenes as an improvised trough. It also looks good overturned, propped against a wall or as part of a load on a bed. The inner surface of the tub, moreover, gives room for effects of standing water or rust.
Wash the part in lukewarm soapy water before painting and let it dry, and clean up the residue from production with a sanding sponge. You can imitate an enameled surface with a light gray base, a thin coat of white and finally a gloss varnish — the sheen is what sets a tub apart from the matte rubble around it. Suggest chipped enamel by dabbing with a sponge in dark gray, and let rust run from the drain and from the feet. If you want water in the tub, use modeling resin for water surfaces; one thin layer is enough. Choose the glue according to the material of the part.
Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
