An injection-molded plastic model of the German fighter aircraft Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 in 1:72 scale from Czech manufacturer Eduard, in the ProfiPACK edition. The subtitle WNF/Diana specifies the production origin of the modeled aircraft — these were machines built at the Wiener Neustädter Flugzeugwerke (WNF) plant and on the follow-on production line known as Diana, which differed in small nose and surface details from aircraft built by other manufacturers. The ProfiPACK edition usually adds photo-etched parts and painting masks to the plastic, along with a choice of color schemes.
The Bf 109G-10 was the fastest production version of the entire Gustav series. Despite its higher number, it did not enter production until late 1944 and was powered by the more powerful engine Daimler-Benz DB 605D with a larger supercharger and the MW 50 power-boost system. It was distinguished by a modified, aerodynamically cleaned engine nose. The version was built by several manufacturers (including WNF/Diana and Erla), leading to small differences between individual aircraft. The G-10 served in the war's final months as a high-altitude interceptor.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling plastic cement, and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate (super glue). Apply a primer before painting, and spray the colors with an airbrush in thin coats. Late Gustavs often carried bold, intricate camouflage schemes — masking the transitions and highlighting the panels with subtle shading pays off.
