This is not a kit of an aircraft but an accessory for the cockpit. Quinta Studio prints the motifs of the instrument panel, the side consoles and other details of the cockpit in relief and straight in color; onto the plastic parts they are then applied as a wet decal. In 1:72 scale this is about the most effective way of getting legible instruments into a cockpit, since hand painting of dial faces at this size is practically impossible.
When the set is worth it
The Buccaneer has a roomy two-seat cockpit and in a build with the canopy slid back it can be seen into well. A bare plastic interior painted in one color then drags the model down markedly. A color decal in relief removes that weakness in the course of a single evening.
The Blackburn Buccaneer was a British two-seat carrier strike aircraft designed for attacks from extremely low altitude over the sea, where enemy radar could pick it up only with difficulty. Against the original S.1, the S.2 version received substantially more powerful Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines, which fundamentally improved both performance and range. The designation S.2C belongs to the naval form of the Royal Navy; aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force had their own designation. Buccaneers stayed in service into the 1990s.
Paint the plastic cockpit parts in a dark base and coat them with gloss clear coat: the motifs have no adhesive layer of their own, they are held precisely by the gloss, and on a smooth surface they do not silver either. Cut the small motifs out one at a time, soak them for about fifteen seconds and slide them off the backing paper, carry them with fine-tipped tweezers and move them with a soft brush. On shaped areas a drop of cyanoacrylate helps. Do not use a decal softener: its chemistry attacks the printed resin and ruins the motif. Finally spray the interior over with matte varnish, so that the sheen matches the plastic around it.
