Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory from the Quickboost range of the Czech maker Aires for kits of the British Phantom FG.1 and FGR.2 in 1:72 scale. The set replaces the fairing of the radar warning receiver (RWR) with an accurately shaped casting with fine detail - it is a prominent recognition feature of the British machines that kits tend to simplify.
The McDonnell Douglas Phantom II served in Britain in the FG.1 version with the Royal Navy and the RAF and the FGR.2 with the RAF. The British machines differed from the American ones above all in their powerplant - in place of the original engines they were given Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines, which called for modifications to the fuselage. Among the typical features of British Phantoms is also the antenna fairing of the radar warning receiver at the top of the vertical tail surface, which alerted the crew to being illuminated by an enemy radar. The Phantoms formed the backbone of British air defense until the start of the 1990s.
Separate the small part from the casting block carefully with a fine saw or a new blade, sand the mating surface and try it dry as you go. Glue with a small amount of super glue, and refine the joint with filler if needed. Before painting the camouflage we recommend a thin coat of primer so that the resin and the plastic look of one piece.
This is an accessory, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; the basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
