A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard aimed at the restraint belts of the seats in the cargo hold of a C-130J Hercules model in 1:72 scale. This is a full photo-etched set, not the reduced Zoom set. Belts are among the details that decide the credibility of an open interior in a small scale: a plastic version tends to be thick and stiff, while a thin metal part can be bent naturally and left hanging free.
The C-130J Super Hercules is a four-engine turboprop transport aircraft. Its cargo hold serves to carry cargo and people alike, and there are therefore folding seats with belts along the walls, which fold against the wall when not in use. That look is exactly what shows most on a model with an open ramp.
Separate the parts with a scalpel, not with cutters, otherwise the thin metal will twist. Bend the belts slightly over a round object before fitting them, so that they look loose. They are bonded with a tiny drop of super glue applied with a pin. Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer; a dark wash helps to unify the transitions between a belt and a seat.
The set is an accessory to a kit, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
