Masks for spraying the camouflage on a model of the Israeli F-15I in 1:72 scale, with stencils for the national insignia. Cut for the Great Wall Hobby kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-15I is the Israeli two-seat strike version of the heavy F-15 fighter, known at home by the nickname Raam. The crew consists of a pilot and a weapon systems operator, the machine carries a large load of bombs and guided munitions, and in the Israeli Air Force it forms the backbone of the strike forces. It is told apart from the fighter versions by the two-seat cockpit and by the extensive pylons.
The package holds cut masks for spraying the camouflage scheme in 1:72 scale and, with them, stencils for the national insignia in the form of a six-pointed star. The shapes follow the kit from Great Wall Hobby, so the boundaries of the fields match its parts. The insignia is applied in paint, which in a small scale tends to be a cleaner solution than a decal. No silvery rim from a film appears anywhere, and the edge of the insignia has the same sharpness as the boundaries of the camouflage fields.
Spray the lightest shade of the scheme and let it cure. Degrease the surface, lay the mask on and press the edge down along its whole length, so that paint cannot run underneath. Apply the next shade in thin coats perpendicular to the surface and take the mask off shortly after it has dried. With the insignia stencils, try the position dry and measure it on both sides from the same point.
The set suits builders of Israeli aircraft and anyone who in 1:72 scale would rather spray than stick. The contents are the masks only; the model, the paints and the glue are not part of them, unless stated otherwise.
